Description
The Memphis bridge extends across the Mississippi River to Arkansas, with colorful reflections dancing on the surface below. The sky transitions from a warm sunset to deep blue hues as night falls. Interstate 40 continues across the United States from east to west, and this bridge is vital to travel and commerce. A little bit of trivia for you: Memphians refer to this as the "New Bridge," while I-55 is the "Old Bridge," but this bridge is actually over fifty years old, completed in 1973. Also called the "M Bridge," its proper name is the Hernando DeSoto Bridge. Thanks to Gary Earheart for sharing his photo with me!
